Basketball Headz

Introduction
Following the Genesis Curry Flow collection, Curry Brand wanted to turn Stephen Curry's live NBA playoff performance itself into a reward mechanic, then let fans build something lasting out of what they earned. The campaign shipped in two connected phases: Score to Mint, a real time fan tool tied to Curry's playoff three pointers, followed by Basketball Headz, an avatar system built from combining what fans claimed with collectible traits from four partner brands.

Process
A Reward Tied to a Live Made Shot
Score to Mint's mechanic was simple on the surface: every time Curry hit a three pointer during a playoff game, one free digital basketball became claimable per wallet, first come first served. That simplicity put real pressure on the interface itself. Claims needed to feel instant and fair under genuine contention, fans competing in real time the moment a shot went in, so the claim flow had to be fast, legible, and resilient under a sudden spike of simultaneous activity.
From Two Collectibles to One Avatar
Basketball Headz gave the basketballs fans claimed a second life. The formula was direct: one Basketball plus one to three Serums from the partner brands combine into a single Basketball Headz avatar, with feature and rarity combinations drawn from whichever Serums were selected. I designed the Mixology Lab, the combination experience where fans bring their claimed basketball and chosen serums together into a finished avatar.
Rewarding Early Holders
Existing Genesis Curry Flow holders got early access to both the NF3 basketballs and IP Serums a few days ahead of general release, a direct extension of loyalty from the first drop into this next phase of the ecosystem.

Conclusion
NF3 collectors made up roughly 1 in 10 of the total NBA Finals viewing audience. Discord became the community's central hub as basketballs evolved into full Basketball Headz avatars, with a phygital roadmap continuing to build on the ecosystem from there.
